Malcolm started playing professionally in the 1970's and his band Cinema was signed to island records in 1978. After recording one album they moved to Stiff records and made a further two albums.
Malcolm started to produce records for other artists at Stiff in the 1980's and had a number of decent hits in the UK market including a number one with "swords of a thousand men" by Ten Pole Tudor.
In the 1999 Malcolm obtained an honours degree in media production.
He is an accomplished guitarist and keyboard player with a great deal of performing experience as well as being a songwriter and singer.
